چکیده

Nanoscale zero-valent iron particles (NZVI) produced by using green tea (GT) extract as a reductant can remove Cr(VI) from water effectively, which be utilized in groundwater remediation. In order to define the reaction mechanism and removal effect aquifer, this study, GT-NZVI were prepared measured some characterization methods their surface performance, then batch one-dimensional experiments carried out reveal properties of groundwater. The results showed that regular spherical with diameter 10–20 nm, could disperse stably. main component was α-Fe superficial polyphenols stabilizer. suspension had good ability reduce Cr(III) water. When concentration 1 g/L, efficiency an initial 100 mg/L reached 92.8% h reaction. column tests, passed through natural sand successfully average outflow percentage 71.2%. simulated in-situ zone (IRZ) used remediate contaminated kept 0.14–0.32 corresponding rate below 0.32% within 15 days, IRZ decreased increase aquifer medium particle size, flow ionic strength. Most reduzate adsorbed or immobilized on lattice GT-NZVI, indicated effective immobilization for chromium.

Application of nanoscale zero valent iron (NZVI) for groundwater remediation in Europe.

PURPOSE Nanoscale zero valent iron (NZVI) is emerging as a new option for the treatment of contaminated soil and groundwater targeting mainly chlorinated organic contaminants (e.g., solvents, pesticides) and inorganic anions or metals. The purpose of this article is to give a short overview of the practical experience with NZVI applications in Europe and to present a comparison to the situation...

Carbothermal synthesis of carbon-supported nanoscale zero-valent iron particles for the remediation of hexavalent chromium.

Nanoscale, zero-valent iron is a promising reagent for in situ reduction of a variety of subsurface contaminants, but its utility in full-scale remediation projects is limited by material costs. Iron nanoparticles (20-100 nm diameter) supported on carbon (C-Fe0) were synthesized by reacting iron salts, adsorbed or impregnated from aqueous solutions onto 80 m2/g carbon black, at 600-800 degrees ...

Potential environmental implications of nanoscale zero-valent iron particles for environmental remediation

OBJECTIVES Nanoscale zero-valent iron (nZVI) particles are widely used in the field of various environmental contaminant remediation. Although the potential benefits of nZVI are considerable, there is a distinct need to identify any potential risks after environmental exposure. In this respect, we review recent studies on the environmental applications and implications of nZVI, highlighting res...

Application of green zero-valent iron nanoparticles to the remediation of soils contaminated with ibuprofen.

Zero-valent iron nanoparticles (nZVIs) are often used in environmental remediation. Their high surface area that is associated with their high reactivity makes them an excellent agent capable of transforming/degrading contaminants in soils and waters. Due to the recent development of green methods for the production of nZVIs, the use of this material became even more attractive. However, the kn...
